Class Photos: If you have taken pictures of our class this school year or last we would love to have them. We are working on a special project for the end of the year. If you have them and can send them electronically that would be helpful. Please send them to Julia Henderson at trffczr@ecentral.com or to my school email address.
Teacher Appreciation Week: Thank you so much for all you did for us during Teacher Appreciation week! I really kind of you to go the extra mile and make sure we all felt appreciated! Thank you, thank you!
King Soopers Gift Cards: Available at the front desk in increments of $25. These are so handy for gift giving. Stargate receives 5% of the sales from these.
Mrs. W’s Surprise Retirement Party: Mrs. W will be retiring at the end of this school year. To celebrate her many years of dedication and hard work for our students and staff, we are planning to have each 1st and 2nd grade student present her with a flower and a card at her party. We need a parent volunteer from each homeroom to be in charge of purchasing at least 24 flowers, a bouquet, for their student’s homeroom. We are also collecting money donations to contribute to a gift for Mrs. W. Anything that you can donate will be appreciated to show Mrs. W what she means to us and how much she will be missed! Please send your donations in a sealed envelope with your student, care of Mrs. Kuhn.
Snacks: We need snacks! If you can contribute to our class stash that would be great! These hungry little students greatly appreciate it!

In Theme This Week: This week we will continue research, outlining and writing paragraphs for their insect projects. We will also continue to observe all of the wonderful butterflies and moths that have hatched in our room. I have sent home time lines of the insect projects along with the insect that your child chose. I will also post a copy on my webpage. Projects will be due on the date of your child’s presentation. Presentations will be the week of May 27th- June 3rd. Sign-ups will be sent home next week.
Homework: Work on the visuals for your insect project: 3-D Model and Poster Board. Have your research notes/materials to show to Mrs. Kuhn on Friday, May 16th along with paragraphs that you have started.
