This Week's Highlights:Madelyn Caviness:  9/10

This week will be a short one due to Parent Teacher Conferences which begin on Wednesday. Please look in your child’s weekly folder for the date and time of your conference. Don’t forget to look through the Lost and Found during conferences for any missing items!

Last Wednesday I had surgery to have a metal plate removed from my arm.  The plate was put in my arm in Dec. 2006 when I severely fractured my left humerus during my first attempt at snowboarding.  The surgery took almost 2 hours due to the scar tissue surrounding the bone and plate.  I am recovering well, and already almost have full use of my arm!  However, my energy level is very low as all of my energy seems to be going towards healing my arm!  I should be relatively back to normal after conferences.  Thanks to all of you that sent positive thoughts and help my way!

This Week's Assignments:

This week we will begin to discuss the roles of the town government and the election process. Students will be able to run for our Classroom’s “Town Mayor”.   Elections will be held on Monday, Oct. 6th. Students may create a short speech to present to the class on Monday, Oct. 6th before our election.

Homework: 3-D Model of Business (no bigger than a shoe box!) Due 10/6!
