What is going on in theme (homeroom) this week?
We will be talking about arthropods this week. We’ll be making a chart with all the different characteristics. Also, we will work on an ant’s anatomy and a grasshopper’s. Our larvae are getting very close to forming into pupas, so the students will continue their observations, and I will do my best to keep them alive!!!
A week from today the students will begin working on their insect research project at home and in class. There will be a lot more information about this project/presentation in next week’s folder. Also, on May 5th the students will be informed of the insect that they are going to become an expert on!
Theme Homework?-None (the insect unit test will be sometime mid-next week; therefore I will post a study guide under “documents.”
FYI
We will be having another marble party this Friday. The students haven’t voted on what they want to do yet, so I will blog it on my website this week.
Congratulations to Abhinav from our class who got 2nd place in the spelling bee final! Our honorable mentions include Kaitlin, Carter, Apoorva and Celeste! Also, congrats to Neil from Ms. Simmon’s class who got first place! I am so proud of everyoneJ
