What is going on in theme (homeroom) this week?
We are going to be doing a week long unit on Friendship this week. We will be doing activities, read alouds, and discussions on rights and responsibilities. Also, we will be making a class constitution, writing a friendship poem, making a quilt, and practicing giving compliments. On Wednesday the students will be paired up with another student of the opposite grade. They’ll be doing a friendship inventory and doing a “trustwalk” together.
This week I will finish testing the students for their needs-based math and literacy classes. The results of your child’s placement will be in next week’s Monday Folder. Please bring these with you on Curriculum Night so that you will know which classes to visit.
Theme Homework- Bring a baby picture of yourself. Put your name on the back. These are due by Friday.

We have Spanish and Computers for the next six weeks.

Please make sure your child is bringing a healthy snack every day. I do not provide snacks.
VOLUNTEERING-
Due to our class being lucky enough to have a student teacher this first half of the year, I will not be using classroom volunteers. However, I will still need volunteers to do some things at home for me, field trips and our class parties. Throughout the school there are also a lot of volunteer opportunities. Such as, your child’s Math/Lit. classes and helping in the library. I appreciate your understanding on this, as Miss Russo needs to complete a certain amount of time to teaching to earn her teaching license.
