Secret Snowperson Gift Exchange

Tomorrow is our party and I just want to make sure that everyone is on the same page.   If you are doing the heifer project for your gift, go to heifer.org, click on the gift registry, put in my name (heidi, huey) and hit enter.   On the next page it will ask for more information, but ignore that.   Go to the bottom of that page and you will find the link to my registry for the classroom.

Don't forget to bring in a card for your Secret Snowperson tomorrow too!  Handmade or recycled is best : )   Our party will start at 1:30 tomorrow.   During the party we will be making Blankets of Love for people in retirement homes.   If you know someone in a retirement home and would like to give them one of the blankets let me know.   Right now I have one home that we will be donating too.  We will also be making cards in class to send with the blankets.

 Moon and More!

Don't forget to be checking the skies nightly!   This week we got to see the first quarter moon and it continues to grow towards being a waxing gibbous moon.   On Christmas Eve we will be able to see not only a very full moon (full moon on the 23rd) but the planet Mars.   It will be very close to us, the closest it can be practically.   It will be close to the moon the whole night (west of it slightly I do believe) and will appear to be a large reddish star.   The planets we can see with our eyes look like stars, but don't twinkle (stars twinkle due to being so far away).   They also tend to follow the same orbital path in the sky from east to west.   If you look in this route it is easy to spot a planet : )   Enjoy your night viewing.   I will at my Dad's using his telescope in Floriday.  I will make sure to take a picture too!

Conference Requests

Tomorrow, amongst all the holiday bustle, I will be sending home when your conference is set up for.  Thank you for waiting till now to get it back.   Just not something a sub would understand how to do and I,  the control freak, would want to make sure it got done right : )

Holiday Wishes!

I am so thankful to have all of you in my class this year!   I hope you all have a break filled with peace and joy, lots of laughter and fun!   Enjoy your break and I look forward to seeing you in 2008!   Peace!
