Loads New Today
Today we started switching for Literacy and Math. In your white Weekly Folder you will see a general report on how they did with their placement testing and what Literacy and Math teacher they have. Tomorrow night you will get to meet their teachers. During the conferences in October we will be going over their specific testing with you so you can see how exactly they did and what they need to work more on this year. The students did very well remember what to bring to class, where to go and to collect their homework. It is amazing how great they are at picking this up.
Purple Homework Folders came home today as well. These are not due back, along with homework in them and reading logs, until Friday. They are welcome to turn work in early. They won't be reminded to turn in the work until Friday; we won't ask everyday.
Make sure you sign up for your chid's Literacy and Math newsletters. By doing so you will be saving yourself a trip to the '1-2 Team' web site and clicking on each class. Every Monday we send a general newsletter (it's called 'What's Happening' for literacy and math) over email to those who have signed up for those teachers newsletters. If you are not signed up yet, just click on the Literacy and Math tabs under each teacher your child has to see what they are doing in that class.
Curriculum Night
Don't forget tomorrow night is Curriculum Night. It starts at 6:30 and goes till 8:30. You will get to meet your child's teachers and learn about all the great things they will be covering this year as well as their classroom expectations. See you then!
Theme Update
This week we will be starting our Communities unit in class.
