Weekly Theme Update
This week we are wrapping up our Economics Unit. On Friday we will have our Economics test. Look under my documents on our class's home web page for what to study. This week we will be also making sure we have all our assignments in for Theme for this trimester. The end of the trimester is next Friday the 29th. Our next Fun Friday will be March 7th.
Marble Party-Movie Permission Slip
This week we will be having our Marble Party this Thursday. Students can wear P.J.'s if they want. We will be watching the movie Hoot (read during read-aloud this trimester) during lunch/recess and during Theme. This is a PG movie and I need to have you fill out and sign the permission slip (that is in this weeks Weekly Folder) in order to watch the movie. In March, for Wednesday Workshops, we will be connecting this movie to our lives and looking at what we can do to perhaps help our prairie dog friends.
Box Tops
Don't forget to send in those box tops by Friday for the classroom competition!!!!!
Lunar Eclipse
This week we have an opportunity to see a lunar eclipse. On Wednesday evening the lunar eclipse will start at about 6:45 (total eclipse from 8 to almost 9, peaking at 8:26). Make sure you get out there early to watch this spectacular event. It should be beautiful!!!! This will be the last one until 2010. Our Class Concert
Next Tuesday is our class concert with Mr. O. The concert starts at 6:30 but students will need to be here by 6:15 at the latest. We will be meeting in my room to gather everyone in our class and take attendance. This is a great tradition and a great time to invite the whole family to see the kids sing : ) Don't forget your cameras... this is definately a 'Kodak moment'. Stay tuned on what they need to wear for the event.
Highlights/Puzzlemania
Included in this week's Weekly Folder is a flyer on purchasing Highlights Magazine or Puzzlemania Magazine. I get these annually and I like to offer it to the class to see if anyone would like to sign up for this great magazine. I get this for Case and we do this together (what we can). I keep them too, for when he gets older to do some of the other pages on his own. This is a 'make you think' magazine and one I grew up with myself. The only thing I receive for offering this is some materials for the class based on how many order (stickers, subscription for the class, etc.). I send it out in case it interests you. Just indicate a yes or no and send it back. I need these back by the end of next week please : )
