Weekly Theme Update

This week we will continue to work on our Unit of Economics.   Last week everyone brought in their stuffed animal for our classroom Pet Store.   We will be bringing these back by the end of next week.   Last week we learned about Needs, Wants, size, quality and popularity.   This week we will be talking about commercialism, supply and demand, goods versus services.   If students would like to bring in an empty box of cereal to look at when we talk about commercialism, they can bring it in on Tuesday.

Today we will be having a parent coming in to share one of their family traditions: Mardi Gras.   We were hoping to get it done last week, but with my schedule and the cake coming in late, we postponed it to today.   I am very excited for us to learn about one of our classmates family traditions that is rich with culture : )

Valentine's Party

Don't forget to get those Valentine cards done.   Last week I sent home a class list of our homeroom class.   If you need another list just email me and I will send you another copy.  Students can also leave the 'To:' blank and just fill in the 'From' as an option.   In class that day during the party we will be decorating our mailbags that we will use to collect our valentine's and all our other goodies to take home that day.

Box Tops Needed

Over the year we have been collecting Box Tops and Campell's Soup Labels.   The annual collecting campaign for the Box Tops is NOW!!!!!   The class that collects the most Box Tops will win a Pizza Party!  We need to have as many in as quickly as possible.   The final day for collecting for the Box Tops for the party is February 22nd.   Send them in now : )
