Spirit Day!!!
Don't forget tomorrow-Tuesday, February the 5th, is School Spirit Day!!!! Students can come in wearing their school colors and show their spirit. During theme we will be going to a Pep assembly to rally up our school spirit. Gooooooo Eagles!!!!
Products Needed!!!
This week we get into full swing of our next unit on Economics. During this unit we will be learning about what is a need and a want, what makes something valuable to someone to want to buy, buy, buy, and about advertising. The children will be looking at the cereal isle and Saturday morning cartoon comercials in a whole new light! During this unit we will need some stuffed animals as part of our classroom Pet Store. We will be using these animals to help us during our lessons, as well as coming up with a good price for them to sell (not really though : ). If you could have them bring one stuffed animal to school on Wednesday for our lessons, it would be much appreciated. We will have them here for about two weeks.
Valentine's Party
Can you believe that it is already time for our Valentine's Party???? Tomorrow I will be sending home a list of student names in the classroom to help you prepare for giving out all those Valentine's. During the party we will be decorating gift bags to use as 'mailboxes' during the party and to take home all our goodies. We have 23 students in the class.
Artwork-Original Works Ordering
Today in the Weekly Monday Folder you will have seen a copy of your child's work come home in a plastic bag. In there is also some ordering information for Original Works Personal Art Work. This is a great way to buy some birthday gifts for family members (or Christmas gifts for next year) in the coming year. Take this once-a-year opportunity to get some really unique gifts for the ones you love!
Mardi Gras Presentation Postponed
Sadly the King Cake, shipped direct from New Orleans, did not make in time today for the party. Thus we have moved it till next Monday (so I can be here too).
Mrs. Huey Out for Conferences This Week
Remember that I will be gone Wednesday through Friday of this week for two conferences (Twice Exceptional Gifted Students and CCIRA). I will still try to check my email daily, but if it is an emergency please let the front office know : ) Mrs. Ramos will be subbing for me those days. Thank you for letting me have this time to get continuing education in order to enrich my lessons with your children!!!
