Secret Snowperson Gift Exchange

Tomorrow is our party and I just want to make sure that everyone is on the same page.   If you are doing the heifer project for your gift, go to heifer.org, click on the gift registry, put in my name (heidi, huey) and hit enter.   On the next page it will ask for more information, but ignore that.   Go to the bottom of that page and you will find the link to my registry for the classroom.

Don't forget to bring in a card for your Secret Snowperson tomorrow too!  Handmade or recycled is best : )   Our party will start at 1:30 tomorrow.   During the party we will be making Blankets of Love for people in retirement homes.   If you know someone in a retirement home and would like to give them one of the blankets let me know.   Right no ... Where is Mrs. Huey?

Well, I think I have finally gotten some really good antibiotics and I can get back to my normal self.   Earlier this month I got sick and the anitibiotic wasn't strong enough and I got really sick over the weekend with fevers, chills, body aches, head ache and ear aches.   Basically I was miserable!   I dragged myself to the doctors on Monday, not because I didn't want to go, but because I was that miserable it was that hard.   He checked me over including a flu test and put me on a super heavy prescription of antibiotics, pain killers and decongestant.   He says I am not contagious and that by Wednesday I would be ready to go back to school.   It was still hard to talk, but today I am feeling even better.   But sadly life doesn't stop when you do, so thus I am back logged with work: gradi ... Don't forget that the Scholastic Book Fair is this week.   We visited the Fair today during Theme to make our wish lists or buy books if we had some.   There are a ton of great books!  It's a great opportunity to buy Holiday gifts (the gift of learning) and help the Library raise money for new books.   Come and peek to see all the great selections for every age!

Chick-Fil-A Reward

We were able to get our reward for Chick-Fil-A fit into our schedule today and ate with the COW.   It was great to see him and to fill our bellies.   Good job everyone who helped us meet this goal of winning three times in a row.   Nice job!!

Theme Update

Last week we learned alot about forces and what are the three main types of forces: push, pull and twist.   We also talked about how objects stay in motion unless other wise acted upon and what that would look like in space.   We talked about the opposing force of friction, and about gravity.   This week we will be talking about balance and how forces are important in balance.

We Won Again!!!

Last Chick-Fil-A School Fundraising night we had the most students there from our class.   Thus we have won three times in a row and have earned breakfast with the Cow.   I need to figure out the logistics of this for they  want to do it in the morning when they would be off ... Read More »

Field Trip On Tuesday!

Don't forget that we are having a field trip on Tuesday to Pump It Up!   Students will need to bring socks (or wear them) and a sack lunch for the day.

It's Not Too Late...

Did you not get around to contributing in some way to the classroom donated Gala Basket?   Not to worry, we are taking last minute items till Wednesday.   If you don't have the time to shop or have nothing around the house to regift that fits our theme, just send in some money.   If we get a little from everyone, we can put it together to make a big gift card or a few to somewhere or for something.   Every little bit helps.   If you can't make it to a cash machine, like me, just write a check to Sharon Robinson and she will take care of ... Weekly Theme Update

Last week we finished up our mapping unit and took our end of unit quiz today.   Look online early next week to see how they did.   This week we will be starting our unit on Balance and Motion.   This is going to be a great unit with a lot of hands on experiments and will run for four weeks.

Did You Know?

Last week we had an interesting training on copyright and making sure we are adhering to these federal laws.   We have realized that we can not put copies of the homework online unless we have created it or have approval from the creator.   Thus, you will not see any more homework attached online.   Students can ask for a paper copy fro ... Halloween Party the 31st

Next Wednesday will be our first classroom party of the school year.   My room mom will be contacting those who signed up to help out early this week.  The party will take place the last hour of school (12:35-1:30-early release day).  Students will be given time after recess to put on their costumes that they brought in a bag that day.  Please remember the no masks, fact paint, hair dye, weapons or gore rules for the costumes.  In lieu of my son not being able to wear a costume to his school, we save his costume we picked out (red Power Ranger this year) at home to help pass out the candy.  Thank you all for your help and support to make this party a success!
