This week in Theme-Friendship Unit
This week our activities will be based on what is a friend and some good character traits of a friend. Their is a brief homework assignment on 'What is a friend?' for your child to complete and return by Friday. We will continue finishing up our assessments of the children on their reading, spelling, writing and math abilities this week. We will be done by the end of the week in order to sort them and place them into like-ability groupings for class next Monday!
Share Days
Every week, in my classroom, students will get the opportunity to share once a week. On Tuesdays, students with last names starting with A throuh La will get to share. On Thursdays, students with the last names starting with Le through Z will ...

Welcome!
I
would first like to start off by welcoming everyone to the new school
year. I am looking forward to having a
spectacular year teaching your children and working with all of you this year. This
year we have lots of great things planned to learn, which we will go over on

please send them in. Also, if you have
time in the afternoon this week or during the day and you can help me pack up
the room, it would be much appreciated.
We are to have our rooms completely packed up by Friday afternoon. Thank you!

As we get to the end of the year and the weather gets
warmer, we are forgetting the policies in certain areas: dress code and
electronics. Please refer to the
specifics on these areas in your Community Handbook, under Student Behavior (p.29). We have had an addition to the dress code in
that children should be wearing non-flip-flop shoes for their safety! Thank you for your help with remembering and
adhering to these policies.

In the coming trimester we will be having some special
guests coming to visit us. We will be
having the Birds of Prey (www.birds-of-prey.org/)
come in to share with us some of their birds.
We did this a couple years ago and it was really neat! We will also be having a poet coming in to
visit us. His name is Justin Matott and he
has written many poetry books like Go Ask Mom and Benjamin Bailey

The week before spring break the Library was
closed. Due to this we will not have
library until next week. Students are
welcome to bring in books to return and visit the library during D.E.A.R. time
or recess throughout the week.
