Take a look at what is going on in our classroom

By Heidi Huey on 5/7/2007

As we get to the end of the year and the weather gets warmer, we are forgetting the policies in certain areas: dress code and electronics.  Please refer to the specifics on these areas in your Community Handbook, under Student Behavior (p.29).  We have had an addition to the dress code in that children should be wearing non-flip-flop shoes for their safety!  Thank you for your help with remembering and adhering to these policies.

Well the end of the year is approaching fast!  This summer many of the teachers will be moving their classroom contents into another classroom due to room changes with the new additions onto our building.  With this change we will need to clean and pack up our current classroom immediately after school is over and clean up our current room for the new teacher occupant.   I am looking for people who can help me pack and clean up the classroom after school lets out as well as people who can help paint.  Please let me know if you would be willing to help out the school or me with any of this effort.  Thanks again for your help!

Last week we learned about fish, their life cycle, their behavior and what they look like.
This week we will be learning about birds. We will be learning about their life cycle,
what they look like, where they live, what they eat and what do they do (their behavior).
On Friday we have our all day Field Trip and Overnight. Homework is due on Thursday
for Literacy and Math due to this.

Friday, April 20th is our date for the overnight. I am all set on chaperones. Thank you all
so much for getting back to me so soon on if you could help out. On Thursday night,
when you are packing up for Friday, please make sure you check the weather to see if
they need to bring sunscreen, a snow shovel or a rain coat. It is that time of year for
wacky weather! Please make sure to send them in with a sack lunch for Friday and a
little extra snack just in case. Also, please send their supplies in their backpack.
Everything else they need to carry by themselves please, so keep it light! Don’t forget
homework is due on Thursday for we won’t be having class at all on Friday.

If you have not returned the participation form in for this, please send it in even if it is a
no. They were mailed to you over a week ago. If you have no idea what I am talking
about-let me know : )

Old Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard is running bare again! Please, if you have not sent in
snack this year NOW IS THE TIME! If you have and feel like being generous, you can
send in some too. Perhaps we should do less prepackaged items this time and do more
bulk-like big bags of pretzels, crackers, gold fish, etc. Thank you for your help.

Monday we will be visiting the Library.  Last week we started our animal unit with what is a living thing, and what are vertebrates and invertebrates.  This week we will be learning about fish.  We will be learning about their life cycle, what they look like, where they live, what they eat and what do they do (their behavior).  Remember on Friday that we have no school due to teacher in-service
