| Naoise Colgan - Parent |
| I am a parent of two Stargate kids, Cian (6th grade) and Sarah (4th grade), both of who have been enrolled at Stargate since Kindergarten. My wife of 15 years, Diane, has been active as a volunteer in both the classroom and most recently on the election committee; it is my turn to step up and help the school.
I am an experienced senior manager currently employed as Vice-President of Operations for a healthcare company in Broomfield (McKesson Health Solutions), and so deal with many of the challenges addressed by the Board on a regular basis. I am very experienced leader with skills in budgeting / finances, facility management, and personnel management issues. In my work environment I believe in being transparent and would look to bring this to my work on the Board as well.
I have an undergraduate degree in Engineering (Mechanical) and an MBA. I have lived in Colorado since 1994. |
| Sharon Robinson - Parent |
| I am Sharon Robinson and I would like you to consider me for the Stargate School Governing Board. My husband, Rick, and I have two children at Stargate, one in third grade and one in fourth. This is our family's fifth year here as both our children have been attending since Kindergarten.
I have been an active volunteer for the past four years, volunteering both in and out of the classroom. I have volunteered on field trips, in the library, and on various committees throughout the school. I have served on the Fundraising Committee, planning the Stargate Gala, and was responsible for coordinating the entire E-book fundraiser in 2008. I also served on the Committee Definitions Committee (CDC) which played an instrumental role in creating the new governance structure while writing the charters for all the committees currently at Stargate. I am currently the Parent Co-Chair of the Accountability Committee, which is responsible for board oversight, ensuring the proper workings of the committees, and following up on grievances/complaints. We are in the process of performing the annual review of the board this spring.
Prior to having children, I worked in various areas of finance for 10 years. My last job, which I held for over 5 of those years, was managing a portfolio of mortgages on golf courses all over the country. I am still responsible for managing our family's finances. I received my BBA in Finance from Emory University, in Atlanta, Georgia in 1989. |
| Alisa Zimmerman - Parent |
| I am passionate about education at all levels and now see an opportunity, as a member of the new Stargate Board, to apply my extensive management experience to support continued progress at the school as it moves to the next level of board governance and academic achievement.
Having attended schools stateside and overseas, as well as living and working overseas, I feel my diverse upbringing, collaborative leadership and team approach to addressing and resolving issues, would complement the range of talent serving the school at the board, staff and community levels.
In my past positions managing programs and services for nonprofits, local government and higher education, I have enjoyed the challenge of taking new or recently revamped operations and structuring them so they can serve their constituents better and for the long term. I excel at strategic planning, program design and management, marketing, community outreach and resource development.
I am a lifelong student. In addition to master’s and bachelor’s degrees, I am currently enrolled in the Denver Community Leadership Forum, an annual training program offered by the School of Public Affairs at the University of Colorado-Denver for those working in the public, private and nonprofit sectors.
I welcome the opportunity to expand my service to the Stargate community as a board member and hope you will consider my past accomplishments and present commitment to education an asset as the school continues to strengthen its focus on the future for the benefit of its students and their families. |
