Sharon Kenyon has extensive educational experience in Wyoming, California and Arizona that spans eighteen years as an Elementary Teacher, two years as a Curriculum Specialist and seventeen years in Administration. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Wyoming and a Masters of Arts in Educational Administration from Arizona State University.
During her administration at both the elementary and junior high levels, she guided her schools to achieve the Arizona Educational Foundation’s A+ School Award, the U.S. Department of Education’s National Blue Ribbon Award, repetitive Arizona Department of Education ‘Arizona Learns Excelling ‘ labels and the Arizona Tribute-Chamber of Commerce Administrative Educational Leadership Award. Her community leadership has included serving as the Chairman of the Board for the YMCA, as a North Central Accreditation Circle of Excellence Chair, and an Arizona Educational Foundation School Recognition Judge.
To model professional and personal accountability, she subscribes to the quote “Your work is your signature; autograph it with excellence”. She finds it exciting and rewarding to be the leader of Stargate and advocating for gifted children. Any free time is spent with her husband hiking, biking and camping in the great outdoors, traveling, attending the classical arts, playing the piano or curling up with a great book. Her ‘very special joys’ center on two talented granddaughters and two pampered King Charles Cavaliers!
